For over 20 years the "Steps Toward" mentoring series has been used for life-on-life development.  Coaching for Life was originally titled Steps Toward Balancing Life's Demands but was redeveloped for use in India, the Philippines and by the Navigators in the USA.  The Ministry Match is a great compliment to these leadership development primers.

Steps Toward Ministry

Out of Print:

Description: The first goal of Steps Toward Ministry is to provide a format for training and equipping Christians. There are nine lessons for effective personal ministry and three for small group leadership. These twelve modular lessons are short, simple and follow a standard format.

Lessons Include:

  • Leading A Small Group Meeting

  • Small Group Dynamics

  • Sharing Leadership In A Small Group

  • A Care List

  • Ministry By Phone

  • Effective Listening

  • Prayer Ministry

  • Providing Care

  • Hospital Visitation

  • Love In Action

  • Introducing People to Jesus Christ

  • Helping New Christians Grow

The apprentice begins by completing the Self-Evaluation. This helps them assess their level of competence and confidence in the twelve ministry skills. Then, using the Progress Checklist, they determine in what order they wish to complete the ministry skill lessons.

The second goal is to create an equipper, not just Christian worker. Ultimately, we want the apprentice to be empowered and encouraged to become the equipper of someone else.
